Entry 87 . 10:001 cet.

It is the 3000th anniversary of the A Attack when my people were uprooted from our place on the world of Earth. Our technology was too advanced; the gods grew evermore fearful of our potential. They aided the A Warriors in their fight against my ancestors, which forever vanquished us from the world of the gods as well as the A. We were cast into the unexplored, unknown, unwanted void. Gravity was more of a strange, mystical theory in that void. Oxygen was nonexistent. My people… we are on the brink of a technological breakthrough that we know may very well level the playing field between us and the gods. The A, if their nation still exists, will fall in a matter of seconds. They sit there, on Earth, like kings and queens, never anxious of any moving shadows that linger in the gaping mouth of dark. Tonight, the blips of luminous light shine bright in our dark world.

Sleep is near impossible for all aboard our voidship, the Mere. I doubt much will happen today, nor tomorrow, and most likely not even the next day. My people and I are anxious, nonetheless. The ship is floating through the dark space flawlessly, and according to our very precise calculations, we should be arriving to Earth in a little less than a week. Every minute slinks by for us all. As the captain, my logs are neither read by anyone nor used for much other than legal disputes. For that matter, I’ll cut this one short.

Entry 89 . 24:013 cet.

It has been a few days since my last entry. Forgive me, my nonexistent reader. Earth has attacked. They have launched rockets towards us, which proves the terrifying possibility that we grossly underestimated them. The rockets skirted by our flank, scarcely missing. Their long, tube-shaped ships prowl closer still. What frightens us all more, however, is the information that nation of A has been dead for a long while; the gods are nowhere to be found. Other human nations occupy Earth, but they are vastly different from what we previously anticipated. Pray for us.

The weapons the new nations have created are unimaginable. Upon reaching the shore and surfacing, we were met with machines that shook the Earth itself. If any positive conclusion can be wrung out of this heartbreaking event it is this: humans, they no longer look towards the Sea for exploration like they once did. They look towards the Space, which sounds like an entirely different void altogether. The nation of A, (Athens, that is) is gone for good. The god that once ruled this land with thunder and lightning is gone. And so we go, the Mere plunging deep into the void once again.

The voyage is over. We are home. Our castle glows under the void’s waves. Atlantis is truly remarkable, for all her faults.
